Goldobina: Hysteria is a threat to everyone. We support a sober approach!

Dear colleagues,
I’ve been in shooting sports for more than 25 years. Now I’m watching what is going on in Internet in the stream of information about the ISSF elections. It makes me laugh and cry.

Why? Let me explain:

1. Our ISSF big “bosses” lost the Running Target by unanimous vote in 2000.

2. After that, we lost all our places in the executive bodies and committees. We were hardly remembered in the Federation in 2002.
Arabic countries, Germany, Italy etc. They are great but they got along fine without us.

3. That group of “brave men” lost Double Trap Women as an Olympic event, and laid back united floating in the stream waiting for some happiness.

4. At the same time, Russia had been twice deprived at the ISSF Executive Committee elections. (I have personally seen Rossi’s wife hug Olegario’s wife many times, and Luciano Rossi kissed Olegario stronger than Brezhnev would). It all seemed eternal and unshaking.

5. We started by convincing the majority in Europe. We trained referees and joined various committees (all those miracles with the disqualifications for ammunitions, underwear, and mess in the Final range… We’ve passed through all of that.)

6. So what do we see now? Vice-President Rossi, who has spent the last 18 years hand in hand with Olegario, went to war against what he himself created. Does he think we don’t remember them unanimously killing Double Trap, Prone Rifle and 50m Pistol?

7. Even some of us came out in support of him (and they wonder how we could have lost an event).
Yes, we lost it, and it was as easy as if to have a dinner. But it had happened many years ago.

8. I see how they’re trying to fool us again: “Hallelujah! Rossi got shooting into the Universiade in Naples!” Who are they trying to fool? The decision was made by the Organizing Committee 2 years ago and nobody could have left out shooting. And what about losing Double Trap? There still will be 20 participants and15 out of them from Italy.

9. Here is what I want to say to the “foreign agents” in our midst who are going against their own country: The hysteria about the alleged plot to kidnap Rossi’s daughter on the eve of the election makes one thing clear – everyone can count, and no one believes gossips, or traitors either. Rossi is sure to be defeated in the General Assembly. This is what the hysteria is all about.

Think about it. Don’t fall for phrases like “I promise, trust me.”
